4 truths we can be thankful for in 2020

1) Be thankful that He gives us the power to persevere daily

"For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory." - Deuteronomy 20:4

Because of the victory we have in Jesus, we get to be thankful for every trial because it's through the difficult situations we produce perseverance and draw closer to God. (James 1: 1-5)

We are victors daily!!

"You saw me before I was born, every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed." - Psalm 139:16

Jesus cares about your every day.

We never have to wake up and wonder if God will help us through our trials, and that alone should make us extremely thankful.

2) Be thankful that His plans for you are good

Romans 8:28 says, "And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

So trust that even when we can't see the entire path, He will always show you the next step to take.

"Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path."

-Psalm 119:105

Trusting God can be challenging because you have to be okay with not knowing His plans. But when you fully believe God is good, you'll trust that His plans for you are also good, even when it doesn't make sense.

Be thankful for the things yet seen.

Because even if I don't know your plans, I know Jesus does.

Therefore, I know they're good.

3) Be thankful that His promises never fail

"For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does." - Psalm 33:4

He doesn't leave.

He doesn't forget.

He doesn't lie.

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."

- Hebrews 13:8

His promises are just as true today as they were in the past.

"I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you." - Genesis 28:15

We get to be thankful for the promises that will always remain the same.

Numbers 23:19 says this, "God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?"

4) Be thankful for His perfect timing

"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9

God is for you!

"He doesn't stop time; He waits for the right time" - Pastor Mike Todd.

So even in the trials, we can trust him.

Even when we cannot see, we can stand firm in believing that His plans are good and He will never fail.

God never promised us that life would be easy, but He did say that there would be a time and season for everything.

And here's the good news; when you choose to follow him, you now have the assurance that you won't have to do it alone!

So, enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. ( Psalm 100:4)
